On Thursdays, regularly since 2021, the Job Center has hosted a featured employer to directly connect with job seekers for immediate placement in in-demand jobs. Open positions have run the gamut from entry-level to highly specific skill needs across many industries.
Our #ThursDate with an Employer events focus on the need for some job seekers to gain immediate access to employment opportunities. The intent of the event is to provide job seekers with immediate access to quality employers of Central Ohio in a variety of industries with all positions meeting our minimum requirements – full-time, benefit-bearing positions that pay over $15/hour.
With the on-demand nature of the events, they provide employers with access to job seekers who might not apply for positions on their organization’s website. #ThursDate with an Employer is promoted in the Job Center’s weekly newsletter, through communication with our community partners, and on our social media channels. We’ve experienced great success with employer partners like Spectrum, City of Columbus Dept of Public Safety, Primary One Health, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, FedEx Ground, and Tosoh.
